Survey Research Program staff can provide advice on the most productive and cost-effective method of data collection (mail, telephone, in person, or Internet/Web based) and the effective use of technology for surveys. In addition, we can specify procedures for maximizing response rates within the framework of available resources – for example, recommended number of attempts to contact respondents, securing initial cooperation, following up on incomplete interviews, converting refusals into acceptances, and use of mixed-mode designs and incentives.
