Gerontology Certificate Scholarship
Apply for a $3,000 UPMC employee scholarship for the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate Certificate in Gerontology Program. This is open to direct care and non-direct care staff and can be completed online. The application deadline is Monday, July 14.
$3,000 Gerontology Certificate Scholarship offered by the University of Pittsburgh’s University Center for Social and Urban Research
Applications are encouraged from direct care and non-direct care employees who:
· Work with older adults or are looking to begin a career in the geriatric field.
· Have a bachelor’s degree.
· Meet general admission criteria for the Graduate Certificate in Gerontology Program.
Required application materials include:
· A one-page letter of intent that describes your financial need for the scholarship.
· Two letters of recommendation.
Certificate highlights:
· Program can be completed online.
· Program can be completed in as early as nine months.
· Credits can often be applied towards a graduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh.
The scholarship can be used along with the UPMC tuition benefit.
The certificate program offers specialization tracks in Law, Mental Health, Nursing, Occupational Therapy/Rehabilitation, Public Health, Social Work, Gerontechnology, Caregiving, and two multidisciplinary tracks — General and Prevention and Healthy Aging.
The scholarship application deadline is Monday, July 14, 2025. Please send your one-page letter of intent along with the two recommendation letters to Jen Bissell at bissell@pitt.edu.
