We want to connect and collaborate with anyone using community-engaged research to make positive change in Pittsburgh and Southwestern Pennsylvania.
To that end, we are excited to launch the UCSUR Affiliate Program—a broad coalition of Pitt faculty, staff, post-docs and students, community leaders, and members of the Pittsburgh and Southwestern Pennsylvania communities who are working to advance high-impact community-engaged research across the University and the region.
Everyone is welcome to apply!
UCSUR Affiliates will formally gather three times each year:
- Biannual meetings to network, learn about innovative community-engaged research initiatives and best practices, get updates about UCSUR’s work, and share solutions for common community-engaged research challenges;
- An affiliate reception in March to showcase and celebrate our collective research, impact, and experiences.
Other affiliate benefits include:
- Invitations to quarterly Community Impact Network Forum meetings, where you’ll hear about the real-time progress of Community Impact Network teams, offer feedback, and collectively build and support best practices in local community-engaged research;
- Opportunities for visibility via UCSUR’s communications efforts and UCSUR’s connection to Pitt's Public Impact strategy.
We are asking affiliates to:
- Attend periodic UCSUR events and affiliate gatherings;
- Spread the word about UCSUR events, services, and opportunities to collaborate;
- Support UCSUR’s vision, implementation, and accountability for advancing high-impact community-engaged research at Pitt and in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
